2018 MEAD Program – This program is closed to entries

Note:  There is an open rehearsal by the Festival artists that is free to the public and students from 9:30 to 10:30 on Saturday the 13th at the Red Rock High School.

About the MEAD Program:

Chamber Music Sedona is pleased to partner with Sedona Red Rock High School (SRRHS) and its music teacher Courtney Yeates to bring you a unique opportunity Saturday, January 13, 2018 at SRRHS to prepare your students for the upcoming High School All Regional Auditions taking place later in January. The Musical Explorations and Discoveries (MEAD) program will take place on the SRRHS campus, its classrooms and the Sedona Performing Arts Center (SPAC). Four distinguished artists, violinist Arnaud Sussman, cellist Nicholas Canellakis, clarinetist Alexander Fiterstein and pianist Adam Gollka, will work with students and present a series of workshops and clinics focusing on audition etudes and ensembles. The program will finish in the afternoon with anticipated performances by students and ensembles.

The schedule includes:

9:30-10:30am campus  –  Required Open Rehearsal at Sedona Performing Arts Center on the SRRHS

10:45-12:30 pm –  Ensemble and Solo Coaching
The ninety minute slot will be broken into two sections based on the number of participating students:
10:45-11:30 am –  Ensembles
11:30-12:15 pm –  Soloists

12:15-1:00 pm – Break for Lunch
1:00-2:00 pm – All Region workshops
• Violins- Black box theater
• Violas- Choir Room
• Cellos- Orchestra Room
• Piano Master Class

2:00-3:00 pm – Student Performances – SRRHS Orchestra room

2:30 pm – SUNDAY, January 14 – 2 free tickets/student for Festival concert @ SPAC (see application)
To better serve you and your students we ask that each student register for the program. We will be serving a simple pizza lunch (including gluten free), salad and bottled water. If there are additional dietary concerns, students will need to bring their own lunch.
