“Chamber Music’s Power Couple” (New York Times), David Finckel and Wu Han are among the most esteemed and influential classical musicians in the world today. With works spanning nearly a quarter of a millennium, they will lead listeners through the extraordinary evolution of classical music, ranging from Bach, Beethoven and Mendelssohn, to Debussy and Britten.

About the artists

Recipients of Musical America’s Musicians of the Year award, one of the highest honors granted by the music industry, David Finckel and Wu Han are in high demand year after year among chamber music audiences worldwide, appearing each season at the most prestigious venues and concert series across the United States, Mexico, Canada, the Far East, and Europe to unanimous critical acclaim. The talent, energy, imagination, and dedication they bring to their multifaceted endeavors as concert performers, recording artists, educators, artistic administrators, and cultural entrepreneurs has garnered superlatives from the press, public, and presenters alike.

In addition to their roles as performers, recording artists, and musical educators, they are also admired as cultural entrepreneurs. Their successful label ArtistLed (www.artistled.com) is the first musician-directed and internet-based recording company in the classical music world. Currently in their third term, Finckel and Han have held the longest tenure as Artistic Directors of The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) since Charles Wadsworth, the founding Artistic Director. In this capacity, they have overseen the establishment and design of CMS’s acclaimed CMS Studio and CMS Live labels and have spearheaded several other partnerships and projects. They are also the founding Artistic Directors of Music@Menlo, a chamber music festival and institute in Silicon Valley.
