Internationally award-winning pianist Orion Weiss performs a recital of masterpieces for solo piano, in the intimate setting of a private home.

About the artist

One of the most sought-after soloists in his generation of young American musicians, the pianist Orion Weiss has performed with the major American orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony, Boston Symphony, Los Angeles Philharmonic, and New York Philharmonic. His deeply felt and exceptionally crafted performances go far beyond his technical mastery and have won him worldwide acclaim. Recent highlights include solo engagements with the Minnesota Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, St. Paul Chamber Orchestra, Albany Symphony, and performances at the Lucerne Festival, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center’s Fortas Series, and the 92nd Street Y.

A graduate of the Juilliard School as a student of Emanual Ax, Weiss was named the Classical Recording Foundation’s Young Artist of the Year in September 2010 and is also a recipient of the Avery Fisher Career Grant and the Gilmore Young Artist Award.
